So the rumor mill is churning and everyone wants to know what Blizzard has in store for us. Mists of Pandaria was trademarked by Blizzard according to a recently found trademark application. So hopefully Blizzard will reveal some details at the upcoming BlizzCon in October. From Gamespot: As spotted by MMO Champion, Blizzard has filed for a US trademark on “Mists of Pandaria” for use in gaming software and entertainment services. Much like Blizzard’s trademark for Cataclysm, the application was made under international classes 9 (electrical and scientific apparatus) and 41 (education and entertainment). However, the publisher also trademarked Cataclysm separately under international class 16 (paper goods and printed matter) for comics, strategy guides, and the like. The Pandaria name may be familiar to Warcraft fans. It is the island home of the panda-like Pandaren race, first teased as an April Fools Day joke by Blizzard. However, the Pandaren have found a following among the Warcraft fanbase, such that references to the race have found their way into the games proper, most notably with a Pandaren Monk pet available for World of Warcraft players for $10. Regardless of whether the Mists of Pandaria speculation is accurate, news of the next [...]

Yesterday I found ou that the Iphone and Android MMO Order and Chaos Online is on Facebook. Being the intrepid game journalist I am, I decided to delve in to the game and see what was what. Since the game doesn’t support my mobile device (A Motorola Droid R2D2) this is my first experience with the it. As you read, keep in mind this is just a first impression. I haven’t spent much time with the game itself. Late last year there were rumors of a fully fleshed out MMO being developed for mobile devices. This MMO wasn’t going to be like the odd action oriented Pocket Legends but more like World of Warcraft and the PC counterparts. It turned out rumors were true and a very capable WoW clone hit Apple’s iOS devices. Soon(ish) after that the game appeared on Android devices as well. Now it seems Gameloft is trying to hit every area of mobility and has launched Order and Chaos Online via Facebook. The game is as easy to install as any other Facebook app: Say yes to the permission and install. Once that happens a familiar screen comes up, complete with a top bar listing gifts/friends/community [...]

Over at Games Radar, I stumbled upon a cool little article. It talks about this infographic that a person from an online poker forum put up. Yet it isn’t about online poker, not really. It really is a history of online gameing as we know it. The infographic is a great read in itself but what really interested me is located towards the bottom: With information like that, one begins to see why Nintendo isn’t leaving the hardware market anytime soon. The Big N’s games just dominate game sales. To see the full infographic and read the Games Radar article, go ahead and click here.
