Check it, here’s the Q&A Interviews with DS9′s Nana Visitor and Rene Auberjonois for Star Trek: Infinite Space which is due out in your browser sometime in 2011 from Gameforge and Keen Games. I don’t really think I need to tell any of you geeks and freaks who these two are. Just in case you were living under a rock playing pong or you’re too young to know.. Nana Visitor played Kira Nerys on Star Trek Deep Space Nine and most recently was seen on Torchwood as Olivia Colasanto. Rene Auberjonois portrayed Odo on Deep Space Nine as wel. He was also on the much loved Boston Legal and the was voice of Robert Edwin House in Fallout: New Vegas! Now then, on to the video!

When Cryptic’s other major MMORPG, “Champions Online,” changed over to a free-to-play model earlier this year, people began to wonder how long it would be until “Star Trek Online” followed in its footsteps. Then, this summer, when Perfect World Entertainment picked up Cryptic Studios it only seemed like a matter of time. Why? Because PW is known for its free-to-play games and having games that were subscription-based would go against their nature as game developers. The plan is to have STO go free-to-play by the end of 2011, but this does leave several questions that need to be answered: Will the game be entirely free-to-play or will a subscription option still remain? Will greater emphasis go into the C-Store? What about people who purchased lifetime subscriptions to the game – will they get any sort of refund? Regardless, this is likely welcome news to many who wanted to play the game but couldn’t justify a subscription for it. After all, though the game has come a long way there still are several bugs and the game, outside of role-playing, is rather bland. Yet, if the game is free, it’s hard to go totally wrong with it! Thanks for pointing this [...]

Among the new additions to “Star Trek Online” that have appeared in Season 4, the newest is the ability to beam down to the surface of Earth and visit Starfleet Academy! Here’s the blurb about it that was posted in their latest newsletter: Beam down to Starfleet Academy from the Sol System or Earth Spacedock transporter rooms and explore this new Federation social hub. Besides serving as a space for socializing and roleplaying, Starfleet Academy includes the following amenities: Bank, Exchange, Mail and Mission Replay Contacts Costume Tailor Food and Drink Vendors Foundry Access Doors and Contacts It’s nice to see them actually mention roleplaying in an MMORPG. Maybe Cryptic is starting to get a bit more wise? STORY ALSO AT: Allahweh’s Domain.
