Maximum Family Games today announced the February 07, 2012 release of Mountains of Madness, the latest game in the Jewel Link Chronicles. Mountains of Madness brings back all new Match-3 games, where players must rid boards of all jewels by matching three or more of a kind. The game also features a number of Seek & Find scenes that must be solved in order to progress through the story.
“Strategy and puzzle games are hugely popular right now,” said Len Ciciretto, president of MFG. “What makes Jewel Link so unique is the integration of a creative storyline, which Mountains of Madness provides alongside the Match-3 jewel boards.”
Within Jewel Link Chronicles: Mountains of Madness, players will attempt to decipher a mystery surrounding an ancient myth believed to have taken place upon a snowy mountain. As each puzzle is correctly solved, new clues are released to help advance gameplay.
Additional game features include specialty tools like the Shuffle and Cyclone keys, which help add even more difficulty to each jewel board. Jewel Link: Mountains of Madness includes over 1,000 items to be discovered and extra tools and power-ups to help players resolve the predicament they find themselves in upon the mountain.
“Placing the classic Match-3 puzzles in the center of a seemingly inexplicable mystery makes the game incredibly enjoyable,” said Ciciretto. “Players will find themselves solving puzzles faster to get to the bottom of the enigma.”
Developed by cerasus.media, Jewel Link Chronicles: Mountains of Madness is rated E 10+ by the ESRB, and suggested for players aged ten and up. Available exclusively for the Nintendo DS™ family of hand-held systems, Jewel Link: Mountains of Madness arrives February 07, 2012, at a suggested retail price of $19.99.
